Big Bash League 2018-19: Match 54, Adelaide Strikers vs Perth Scorchers: Dream11 Prediction, Playing XI Updates & Fantasy Cricket Tips - February 9th, 2019
In the first of the double header on Saturday, Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers face off against each other in a dead-rubber at the Adelaide Oval. Both teams have under-performed this season considering the firepower in their respective ranks and would want to walk out with nothing but a win. With the likes of Travis Head returning for one last match, the stage is set for another thriller at the Adelaide Oval.
Squads to choose from:
Adelaide Strikers:
Wes Agar, Alex Carey, Michael Cormack, David Grant, Travis Head, Colin Ingram, Rashid Khan, Ben Laughlin, Jake Lehmann, Michael Neser, Liam O'Connor, Peter Siddle, Matt Short, Billy Stanlake, Cameron Valente, Jake Weatherald, Jon Wells, Nick Winter
Perth Scorchers:
Ashton Agar, Cameron Bancroft, Jason Behrendorff, Hilton Cartwright, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Cameron Green, Josh Inglis, Matthew Kelly, Michael Klinger, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Joel Paris, Usman Qadir, Jhye Richardson, Ashton Turner, Andrew Tye, Sam Whiteman, Nick Hobson.
Playing XI Updates:
Adelaide Strikers:
Travis Head is back for the Strikers and will replace Colin Ingram, who has been granted permission to leave the squad to spend time with his family. The bowling capitulated under an onslaught from Matt Renshaw and would be hoping for an improved performance against the Scorchers. The onus will be on Alex Carey to guide the team to a victory against a formidable Scorchers bowling unit.
Possible XI: Carey(WK), Weatherald, Head (C), Wells, Valente, Neser, Nielsen, Rashid, Stanlake, Siddle and Laughlin.
Perth Scorchers:
With Shaun Marsh not available for this match as well, Michael Klinger is set to continue at the top of the order along with Josh Inglis. Perth could possibly field an all-pace attack with Kelly breaking out as a lethal death bowler over the past few matches with Hinchcliffe failing to deceive.
Possible XI: Klinger, Inglis (WK), Bancroft, Turner, Mitchell Marsh (C), Hobson, Hinchcliffe, Coulter-Nile, Tye, Kelly and Behrendorff.
Fantasy Tips and Suggestions:
Wicket-keeper: Both Cameron Bancroft and Alex Carey are great options with their recent form also justifying the claim. Either of them would suffice in the fantasy team though Alex Carey's form at the Adelaide Oval is irresistible.
Batsmen: Travis Head, Jake Weatherald, Ashton Turner and Michael Klinger are the ideal players to have in your side. Ashton Turner has been brilliant with the bat and has been at the centre of all of the Scorchers' wins and will once again be crucial to their chances of a win.
Jono Wells is also another good option to have, with his finishing ability panning out well for Adelaide.
All-rounders: Mitchell Marsh has yet to come up with anything substantial and will hope to use this opportunity to reinstate his credentials. Either of Valente or Neser are also handy options to rake in valuable points with bat and ball.
Bowlers: Rashid Khan and Jason Behrendorff have been the standout bowlers for either team and are must haves in the side. Either of Ben Laughlin or Peter Siddle would be ideal to supplement the likes of Rashid and Behrendorff. Matt Kelly and his yorkers could also be backed in their final match of the season.
Captain: Alex Carey and Mitchell Marsh are the front-runners to assume the mantle of captaincy while the likes of Travis Head and Ashton Turner are also able options to opt for, considering recent form.
Fantasy Suggestion #1: Alex Carey(WK), Jake Weatherald, Travis Head, Michael Klinger, Ashton Turner, Mitchell Marsh, Michael Neser, Jason Behrendorff, Rashid Khan, Ben Laughlin and Nathan Coulter-Nile. Captain: Alex Carey
Fantasy Suggestion #2: Cameron Bancroft (WK), Travis Head, Jake Weatherald, Jono Wells, Michael Klinger, Ashton Turner, Mitchell Marsh, Matt Kelly, Jason Behrendorff, Peter Siddle and Rashid Khan. Captain: Mitchell Marsh
