Ind vs NZ 5th ODI: Dream11 Prediction, Playing XI Updates & Fantasy Cricket Tips - February 3rd, 2019

Fantasy Cricket Tips
Fantasy Cricket Tips

After four fairly one-sided ODIs between arguably two of the best cricketing nations in the world, India and New Zealand, the action now moves to the Westpac Stadium in Wellington for the fifth and final ODI.

All the previous matches in the series have been fairly one sided matches with India dominating the first three ODIs and NZ gaving it back with an equally triumphant victory in Hamilton.

Although this match is surely a dead rubber, with India already having wrapped the series, this match is sure to be a highly competitive contest as the likes of Ambati Rayudu and James Neesham giving it their all in their effort to make it to their respective squads for World Cup 2019.

Squads to choose from:

New Zealand:

Kane Williamson (c), Trent Boult, Matt Henry, Colin de Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Colin Munro, Henry Nicholls, Mitchell Santner, Todd Astle, James Neesham, Tim Southee and Ross Taylor

India:

Rohit Sharma (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu, Dinesh Karthik, Kedhar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, Khaleel Ahmed, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami, Vijay Shankar and Shubman Gill

Playing XI Updates

New Zealand

After a dominant performance with the ball in the previous ODI, New Zealand aren't expected to make many changes to the successful combination. Trent Boult could be rested for this match with nothing much at stake as Tim Southee could return in his place. Henry Nicholls should continue to bat at the top after a solid stint in the middle in Hamilton. Martin Guptill is under an injury cloud and is likely to make way for Colin Munro at the top of the order.

Possible XI: Munro, Nicholls, Williamson (c), Taylor, Latham (wk), Neesham, Santner, de Grandhomme, Astle, Henry and Southee

India

Rohit Sharma's 200th ODI wasn't one worth remembering as NZ handed Team India their worst defeat in terms of balls remaining. MS Dhoni has been declared fit for this game. Considering the tussle for the uncertain middle order spot, Rayudu and Shubman Gill are likely to retain their spots in the playing eleven.

Shami could return instead of Bhuvneshwar to give him a well-deserved rest after playing nine straight ODIs while the likes of Chahal and Khaleel could be replaced by Siraj and Jadeja for the final match.

Possible XI: Rohit (c), Dhawan, Gill, Rayudu, Dhoni (wk), Jadhav, Pandya, Jadeja, Kuldeep, Khaleel/Siraj and Shami

Fantasy Tips and Suggestions:

Wicket-keeper: Tom Latham is the preferred choice as MS Dhoni is just returning from injury. The left-hander has also been in good form over the summer with a bunch of captivating knocks in the Test format to his name, making him a valuable pick for the fantasy side.

Batsmen: Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill are two of the best batsmen in the shorter format but haven't clicked in this series. This has drastically affected the Kiwis with the series already lost. From India's point of view, Rohit and Dhawan could come good in the last and final ODI. Ross Taylor can also be drafted in for either of them if necessary.

All-rounders: Either of Mitchell Santner or Colin de Grandhomme would be decent selections along with Hardik Pandya and possibly Kedhar Jadhav. Pandya has looked good in his two outings for India and is one to keep an eye on as well.

Bowlers: Matt Henry and Todd Astle are viable picks to go for with Mohammed Shami. He should return to the side after having sat out the previous game, while Kuldeep Yadav could also be a handy pick.

Captain: Kane Williamson and Rohit Sharma are the ideal options for captain while the likes of Dhawan and Guptill are also in the reckoning. Rohit Sharma has scored a hundred in every series since the Champions Trophy and with the Mumbaikar not scoring one yet this series, it could be his day.

Fantasy Suggestion #1: Tom Latham (wk), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Kedhar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Mitchell Santner, Todd Astle, Matt Henry and Mohammed Shami. Captain: Rohit Sharma

Fantasy Suggestion #2: Tom Latham (wk), Kane Williamson, Rohit Sharma, Ross Taylor, Ambati Rayudu, Hardik Pandya, Mitchell Santner, Colin de Grandhomme, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Matt Henry. Captain: Kane Williamson
