IND vs PAK Dream11 prediction: 3 differentials you can pick in today’s World Cup 2023 match – 14th Oct, 2023
India takes on Pakistan in a blockbuster encounter in the 2023 Men's ODI World Cup on Saturday, October 14, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Both sides have made a perfect start to the tournament by winning both their fixtures. While India got the better of Australia at Chepauk and followed it up with a facile win against Afghanistan, Mohammad Rizwan's record-breaking century bailed Pakistan out of trouble in a morale-boosting run chase against Sri Lanka after they comfortably beat the Netherlands.
India's win against Pakistan in the Super 4s of the Asia Cup will give them confidence heading into this match, but the wicket for those two matches couldn't be any different. With this black soil wicket unlikely to have much in it for the spinners, it'll be interesting to see how much of a threat Kuldeep Yadav will pose for the Pakistan batters.
This is one of the biggest fixtures in world cricket and should be a wildly popular one on Dream11. Let's look at three differentials you can select for your Dream11 teams.
#3 Shubman Gill (IND)
With captain Rohit Sharma declaring that there's a 99% chance Shubman Gill takes the field against Pakistan, it's increasingly likely that he will do so, and that makes him one of the best differential options for this match.
With ownership in the mid-20s right now, Gill is a huge differential when compared to the other Indian or even Pakistan batters, and that too on a venue where he scores runs for fun. He has a hundred each in the lone T20I and Test match he played at this venue, with a tremendous record in the IPL to go with it.
669 runs in 12 matches, averaging 66.9, and scoring at a strike rate of close to 160, need one say more? Does a Dream11 manager need any more encouragement to pick one of India's most in-form batters at his favorite venue?
#2 Saud Shakeel (PAK)
Saud Shakeel may seem like an odd choice from the many quality batters to choose from, but he is one of the most technically solid batters in the side and should enjoy batting on this Ahmedabad surface.
Shakeel has excellent numbers in Test cricket, with 875 runs in seven matches at an average of 87.50. While he hasn't had a similar level of success in limited-overs cricket, he seems to be settling in well in that No. 5 slot for Pakistan and should be a crucial batter for them in this match.
Ravichandran Ashwin isn't expected to be in the Indian playing XI, and with him being a left-hand batter, he can take on the in-form Jadeja on a surface that isn't expected to aid spinners in the first place. A calm and composed batter with a cool head, Shakeel is someone who should get some runs at this venue, and his really low ownership makes him a quality Dream11 differential.
#1 Shreyas Iyer (IND)
A lot of people seem to have written off Shreyas Iyer and skipped straight to KL Rahul after Virat Kohli when it comes to the big names in India's top order. That, however, is unclear why because Shreyas still has solid numbers in ODI cricket, especially at that No. 4 slot, and he remains India's best player of spin.
After getting out playing a rash shot in a pressure situation against Australia, there was plenty of criticism over Shreyas' dismissal. He did get some confidence in his short stay at the crease against Afghanistan where he made an unbeaten 23-ball 25 that included a monstrous 101m six against Mujeeb.
On what should be a good batting wicket, Shreyas should shine if given the opportunity and can rubbish the claims that he can't handle high-quality fast bowling. While he does have a slight weakness against short balls, the extent of it has been blown out of proportion.
Shreyas is one of India's most dependable and consistent run-scorers, and there's every chance he proves that once again in this match.
