The Indian bowling unit came to the rescue in the first ODI as the English women were thwarted in their attempts to chase down a modest total by the likes of Ekta Bisht and Jhulan Goswami. With the series up for grabs, an upbeat India side once again face the wounded England Women side at the Wankhede stadium.

The World Champions impressed with the ball in hand after Mandhana and Rodrigues threatened at the start of the match and will be looking for more of the same as they aim to keep the series alive in what promises to be another entertaining encounter between two very well-balanced sides.

Squads to choose from:

India Women:

Mithali Raj (C), Jhulan Goswami, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, Taniya Bhatia, Ravi Kalpana, Mona Meshram, Ekta Bisht, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Mansi Joshi, Punam Raut.

England Women:

Tammy Beaumont, Katherine Brunt, Kate Cross, Sophia Dunkley Brown, Sophie Ecclestone, Georgia Elwiss, Alex Hartley, Amy Ellen Jones, Heather Knight (C), Laura Marsh, Natalie Sciver, Anya Shrubsole, Sarah Taylor, Lauren Winfield, Danielle Wyatt

Playing XI Updates:

India Women:

No changes are expected of the victorious Indian side, who had to make due with the absence of Harmanpreet Kaur in the middle order. Her replacement, Harleen Deol could not come up with a sizable contribution, yet she should still be persisted with in the middle order on Monday.

Their opening pair of Mandhana and Rodrigues have been sensational over the last couple of tours and are key to their fortunes along with Poonam Yadav, who was economical in her previous outing.

Possible XI: Mandhana, Rodrigues, Deepthi, Raj(C), Deol, Meshram, Bhatia(WK), Jhulan, Ekta, Shikha and Poonam

England Women:

A no-show from some of their best batsmen did not help their cause as England were bundled out for just 136. If they are to compete against a strong Indian side, the likes of Tammy Beaumont and Sarah Taylor need to step up and complement the English bowling, who were on the money after India got off to a solid start. They should play with the same side with Laura Marsh sitting out for a second straight game.

Possible XI: Jones, Beaumont, Sarah(WK), Knight(C), Sciver, Wyatt, Brunt, Elwiss, Shrubsole, Ecclestone and Hartley.

Fantasy Tips and Suggestions:

Wicket-keeper: Sarah Taylor recently made her return to international cricket but to little avail as she was dismissed early into her innings. With Taniya Bhatia batting deep down the order, Sarah Taylor is the ideal player to fill in this slot.

Batters: Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues are in the midst of a purple patch which has already seen them put in a number of solid partnerships at the top of the order. They are great options to have in the side along with the likes of Heather Knight and Tammy Beaumont. Mithali Raj is the highest run-scorer in the format and could also have a look-in, instead of Mandhana or Rodrigues.

All-rounders: Natalie Sciver, Katherine Brunt and Deepthi Sharma all rank in the top ten all-rounders of the world in the ODI format, justifying their selections into the fantasy team for this crucial match. Georgia Elwiss had a good game with a couple of wickets to her name as well. She could be swapped for either Brunt or Sciver in order to facilitate the selections of more established players.

Bowlers: Sophie Ecclestone and Poonam Yadav are must-have players considering the nature of the Wankhede pitch. Along with them, the likes of Jhulan Goswami, Alex Hartley and Anya Shrubsole are also viable options to go by. Ekta Bisht picked up four wickets in the previous ODI and could also be picked instead of Goswami.

Captain: Natalie Sciver and Mithali Raj are the front-runners for captaincy with a match-defining performance just around the corner for both women although Smriti Mandhana and Sarah Taylor cannot be ignored in the discussion.

Fantasy Suggestion #1: Sarah Taylor (WK), Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Heather Knight, Katherine Brunt, Deepthi Sharma, Natalie Sciver, Anya Shrubsole, Sophie Ecclestone, Poonam Yadav and Ekta Bisht. Captain: Natalie Sciver

Fantasy Suggestion #2: Sarah Taylor (WK), Mithali Raj, Tammy Beaumont, Jemimah Rodrigues, Georgia Elwiss, Deepthi Sharma, Natalie Sciver, Sophie Ecclestone, Alex Hartley, Poonam Yadav and Jhulan Goswami. Captain: Mithali Raj
