IPL Fantasy Cricket Tips
IPL Fantasy Cricket Tips

Two teams who have developed quite the rivalry over the past few years take centre stage with yet another exciting contest on your hands in the first match of a double-header on Sunday with Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on the Sunrisers Hyderabad at their fortress in Hyderabad.

SRH enter into this match as firm favourites after overcoming a Sanju Samson hundred to come up trumps in an usually high-scoring encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. On the other hand, RCB have already been left behind in the IPL Points Table after two disappointing losses and have to play catch up one again with the stern task of breaching the Orange Army fortress come Sunday.

With David Warner looking in ominous form, whether or not RCB will be able to overcome the pocket-sized dynamite is one question waiting to be answered on Sunday. Here are a few tips to help you pick your Dream11 team.

Squads to choose from:

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Kane Williamson (C), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, David Warner, Shreevats Goswami, Wriddhiman Saha, Jonny Bairstow, Martin Guptill, Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan, Deepak Hooda, Ricky Bhui, Abhishek Sharma, Vijay Shankar, Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem, Khaleel Ahmed, Siddharth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma, Natarajan, Basil Thampi, Billy Stanlake

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Virat Kohli(C), Parthiv Patel, Devdutt Padikkal, AB de Villiers, Gurkeerat Singh, Akshdeep Nath, Shimron Hetmyer, Colin de Grandhomme, Shivam Dube, Himmat Singh, Milind Kumar, Marcus Stoinis, Moeen Ali, Pawan Negi, Washington Sundar, Prayas Ray Barman, Heinrich Klaasen, Yuzvendra Chahal, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Kulwant Khejroliya, Tim Southee, Nathan Coulter-Nile

Playing XI Updates

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

A paradigm shift in the SRH combination now sees the traditionally bowling heavy team backing their explosive top three of Warner, Bairstow and Williamson to deliver the goods, with the surface at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium more suitable for the batsmen, as seen on Friday.

Vijay Shankar proved a point with his fiery cameo against RR to seal the number four spot in the SRH team, ahead of Manish Pandey. The bowling needs to come up with better performances with Bhuvneshwar and Sandeep Sharma not up to the mark in the IPL so far. Shahbaz Nadeem could sit this one out with RCB having as many as four left handers in their ranks.

Possible XI: Warner, Bairstow (WK), Williamson (C), Manish, Yusuf, Shankar, Rashid, Bhuvneshwar, Nadeem/Khaleel, Kaul and Sandeep.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB are in familiar situation of having to find the ideal combination with their backs already up against the walls inspite of the IPL 2019 being just a week old. Death bowling has always been a concern for RCB and would be tempted to bring in Southee for fellow countryman, Colin de Grandhomme, who had a match to forget against Mumbai. Pawan Negi or Washington Sundar could also play at the expense of Saini with the returning home-town boy, Mohammad Siraj's record in Hyderabad working in his favour

Possible XI: Kohli(C), Parthiv(WK), ABD, Ali, Hetmyer, Grandhomme/Southee, Dube, Saini/Negi, Siraj, Umesh and Chahal.

Fantasy Tips and Suggestions:

Wicket-keeper: Jonny Bairstow has two cameos to his name, playing second fiddle to the destructive, David Warner. Against the likes of Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini who bowl at speeds in excess of 140, Bairstow would love to tee off and make a mark of his own in this year's edition of the IPL. He should be preferred over Parthiv Patel, who isn't known for a long innings at the top of the order

Batsmen: David Warner and AB de Villiers showcased their destructive ability in their previous matches, albeit to contrasting effects. Both of them are clever selection to this team while captains, Kane Williamson and Virat Kohli are also more than capable of filling in for the aforementioned duo to balance out the fantasy team. Shimron Hetmyer is yet to get going in the IPL and is one to watch out for in Hyderabad on Sunday

All-rounders: Moeen Ali has been given the freedom to bat at the top of the order with his ability to pounce upon the bowlers regardless of the situation and reputation being one of his assets. This Sunil Narine-esque promotion could reap rich dividends in the coming days and shouldn't be ignored in the fantasy team as well. Vijay Shankar and Shivam Dube are also viable options with their gentle medium pacers also handy in the middle overs.

Bowlers: Rashid Khan's record against RCB is very impressive with the Afghan's debut in the IPL coming against the very same opposition in 2017. He is a must have in the side along with RCB leggie, Yuzvendra Chahal. Sandeep Sharma and Navdeep Saini are to very bright fast-bowling prospects in India's ranks and should be able to pick a wicket or two upfront on Sunday.

Captain: AB de Villiers and David Warner are two of the most sought after T20 players in the world and in the form that they are in, it is quite hard to ignore them for the mantle of captaincy. If included in the fantasy team, Virat Kohli is also another option worth exploring.

Dotball Fantasy Suggestion #1: Jonny Bairstow (WK), David Warner, Kane Williamson, Shimron Hetmyer, AB de Villiers, Moeen Ali, Vijay Shankar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini and Rashid Khan. Captain: David Warner

Dotball Fantasy Suggestion #2: Jonny Bairstow (WK), Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey, Virat Kohli, Shimron Hetmyer, Moeen Ali, Vijay Shankar, Sid Kaul, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammad Siraj and Rashid Khan. Captain: Virat Kohli
