Momentum One Day Cup is back after a brief hiatus with the Lions taking on a resurgent Cape Cobras side, boasting of the likes of Hashim Amla and JP Duminy. Both teams were outplayed in their previous match and look for nothing but a win to keep pace with the table toppers, Warriors. With only half the season left as of now, only a win would suffice either team's ambition, guaranteeing a highly competitive game on Thursday at the Wanderers.

Squads to choose from:

Lions:

Craig Alexander, Stephen Cook, Bjorn Fortuin, Dominic Hendricks, Reeza Hendricks, Beuran Hendricks, Wihan Lubbe, Mangaliso Mosehle, Aaron Phangiso, Dwaine Pretorius, Migael Pretorius, Omphile Ramela, Kagiso Rapulana, Ryan Rickelton, Malusi Siboto, Nicky van den Bergh, Rassie van der Dussen, Nandre Burger, Wiaan Mulder, Nono Pongolo, Delano Potgieter, Temba Bavuma

Cape Cobras:

Dane Piedt, David Bedingham, Tladi Bokako, Isaac Dikgale, Jean-Paul Duminy, Zubayr Hamza, George Linde, Janneman Malan, Pieter Malan, Akhona Mnyaka, Dane Paterson, Jason Smith, Kyle Verreynne, Rory Kleinveldt, Hashim Amla, Aviwe Mgijima, Mpilo Njoloza

Playing XI Updates:

Lions:

No changes are expected of the side that played against the Warriors last week with Ryan Rickelton and Kagiso Rapulana set to open the batting once again. Dominic Hendricks fought a lone battle against the Warriors and should be one of the go-to players with the bat while Siboto and Nandre Burger are key with the ball. Early wickets are crucial for their cause to put a formidable Cape Cobras side on the back foot early on.

Possible XI: Rickelton, Rapulana, Hendricks, Bavuma(C), Bergh(WK), Potgieter, Fortuin, Pongolo, Phangiso, Siboto, and Burger.

Cape Cobras:

Like their opponents, Cobras are also likely to play with the same set of players, although much is expected of their senior players, Hashim Amla and JP Duminy. With the likes of Janneman Malan and Zubayr Hamza also in their ranks, Cobras enter the match as the favourites while Rory Kleinveldt's quota of overs going to be crucial on Thursday.

Possible XI: Janneman Malan, Amla, JP Duminy(C), Hamza, Bedingham (WK)/Verreynne, Linde, Mgijima, Kleinveldt, Paterson, Bokako and Mnyaka.

Fantasy Tips and Suggestions:

Wicket-keeper: With Kyle Verreynne's inclusion in the playing XI still uncertain, Nicky van den Bergh is the safer option to go by with the Lions keeper able to score some vital runs as well in the middle phase of the innings.

Batsmen: Hashim Amla and Temba Bavuma are great picks for the fantasy team with both of them itching for a big score on Thursday. Zubayr Hamza's good run should see his inclusion in the fantasy team while one of Ryan Rickelton or Dominic Hendricks would suffice in completing the batting department.

All-rounders: JP Duminy and Rory Kleinveldt's experience is bound to come in handy against the Lions, making them great selections to the side. Potgieter is also a viable option with his all-round abilities yet to come to the fore in the competition.

Bowlers: Siboto, Phangiso, and Paterson are the ideal set of bowlers to have in the side with all three of them certain to pick a wicket or two for their respective teams. Nandre Burger is also a viable option and could replace Siboto or Phangiso to beef up the fast bowling ranks.

Captain: Hashim Amla isn't in the best of forms but this match presents the perfect opportunity for him to overcome this rut. Along with Duminy and Bavuma, Amla is one of the frontrunners for captaincy on a pitch that should favour stroke play.

Fantasy Suggestion #1: Nicky van den Bergh (WK), Zubayr Hamza, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Ryan Rickelton, JP Duminy, Rory Kleinveldt, Delano Potgieter, Dane Paterson, Aaron Phangiso and Malusi Siboto. Captain: Hashim Amla

Fantasy Suggestion #2: Nicky van den Bergh (WK), Hashim Amla, Janneman Malan, Temba Bavuma, Dominic Hendricks, JP Duminy, Rory Kleinveldt, Delano Potgieter, Dane Paterson, Malusi Siboto and Bjorn Fortuin. Captain: JP Duminy
