As the halfway mark of MSL 2019 approaches, Nelson Mandela Bay Giants occupy the top spot with three wins to their credit. They put their unbeaten status on the line as Nelson Mandela Bay Giants faces Durban Heat in what promises to be a close encounter on Saturday. Durban Heat have been put under the pump by the opposition batsmen in both their games.

They are yet to win a game in MSL 2019 with three of their games being washed away. However, this isn't the case with Nelson Mandela Bay Giants. They pulled off a stunning chase against Cape Town Blitz earlier in the week and are high on confidence. With the likes of Smuts and Morris in top form, one wouldn't want to bet against the table-toppers winning this game.

Nevertheless, a close encounter is on the cards with Durban Heat eager to register their first win of the season. Here are a few tips to help you pick your Dream11 team for NMG vs DUR.

Squads to choose from:

Nelson Mandela Bay Giants:

J J Smuts (C), Jason Roy, Farhaan Behardien, Imran Tahir, Chris Morris, Junior Dala, Beuran Hendricks, Matthew Breetzke, Onke Nyaku, Ben Dunk, Heino Kuhn, Marco Marais, Grant Thomson, Akhona Mnyaka, Nandre Burger and Dyllan Matthews.

Durban Heat:

Dane Vilas (C), Andile Phehlukwayo, Alex Hales, David Miller, Ravi Bopara, Keshav Maharaj, Kyle Abbott, Khaya Zondo, Marco Jansen, Daryn Dupavillon, Sarel Erwee, Malusi Siboto, Prenelan Subrayen, Wihan Lubbe, Shaun von Berg, Robbie Frylinck.

Playing XI Updates:

Nelson Mandela Bay Giants:

Matthew Breetzke could lose his spot in the side for Grant Thomson although Nelson Mandela Bay Giants wouldn't be too keen on tinkering with the side. Although Jason Roy failed in the previous game, the likes of JJ Smuts and Marco Marais stepped up against a formidable Cape Town Blitz side to move to the top of the Points Table. Their bowling unit is well balanced with the experience of Imran Tahir and Chris Morris being well complemented by the shrewd captaincy of JJ Smuts. The presence of Heino Kuhn in the middle order adds stability heading into this game in the absence of Farhaan Behardien.

Possible XI: Roy, Breetzke, Smuts(C), Dunk(WK), Kuhn, Marais, Morris, Dala, Burger, Tahir and Nyaku

Durban Heat:

Although their previous game ended in a no-show, Durban Heat will ponder a few changes in the playing XI. Sarel Erwee was dropped in the previous game for Wesley Marshall but should see himself on the sidelines in spite of Marshall's failure. They did play with an extra seamer against the Spartans and should continue to do so in this game as well. Khaya Zondo could find a place in the side at the expense of a bowler with Ravi Bopara and Lubbe capable of filling in as the fifth bowler in the side. Although he has picked a couple of wickets so far, Andile Phehlukwayo has underwhelmed for the Heat. His performance will be crucial to their fortunes on Saturday.

Possible XI: Hales, Marshall, Lubbe, Vilas (C&WK), Miller, Bopara, Zondo/Jansen, Abbott, Siboto, Maharaj and Phehlukwayo.

Pitch Report:

Another belter of a track should complement the batting firepower of either side in this game. 180 is par here although there some help with the new ball for the pacers. Cloudy conditions could even the game up initially with teams looking to chase upon winning the toss.

Fantasy Tips and Suggestions:

Wicket-keeper: Dane Vilas hasn't started MSL 2019 well in spite of the Lancashire stalwart batting at number four. He should be backed to score some runs in the middle order. An extra keeper could also be beneficial with Heino Kuhn being well aware of the conditions in Port Elizabeth.

Batsmen: English imports Jason Roy and Alex Hales are must-haves in the side with both of them looking in ominous touch. While NMG captain, JJ Smuts' fifty in the previous game also holds him in good stead, the likes of Lubbe and Dunk also warranty a place in the side. If the Heat is chase on this surface, one can expect a good performance from David Miller as well.

Allrounders: Ravi Bopara has had a successful 2019 so far in the T20 format. Having won the T20 Blast with Essex, Bopara's stocks have increased considerably with a move to Sussex also following his exploits. He should able to contribute with both bat and ball in this game as the Durban Heat all-rounder is picked along with Chris Morris. Andile Phehlukwayo is another viable candidate with his knuckleballs bound to yield a wicket or two.

Bowlers: Imran Tahir and Junior Dala have picked 14 wickets between them so far for the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants. They are dependable options for this game along with Kyle Abbott, who is arguably the best Durban Heat has to offer on Saturday. Malusi Siboto is also a good option and would certainly help in the selection of other established players.

Captain: Alex Hales has gotten off to a couple of starts so far. He would love to score big runs at the top of the order and should be backed as well. Along with Hales, the likes of Jason Roy and Ravi Bopara are also worth-while options for captaincy.

Fantasy Suggestion #1: Dane Vilas, Heino Kuhn, Wihan Lubbe, Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Chris Morris, Andile Phehlukwayo, Ravi Bopara, Junior Dala, Imran Tahir and Malusi Siboto. Captain: Alex Hales, Vice-Captain: Ravi Bopara

Fantasy Suggestion #2: Heino Kuhn, Alex Hales, Jason Roy, David Miller, Wihan Lubbe, Ravi Bopara, JJ Smuts, Chris Morris, Kyle Abbott, Imran Tahir and Malusi Siboto. Captain: Jason Roy, Vice-Captain: Alex Hales
