PR vs SEC Dream11 Prediction: 3 players you can pick as captain or vice-captain for today’s SA20 match – January 11, 2025

The Paarl Royals (PR) and the Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) will square off in the third match of SA20 2025 on Saturday, January 11, at Boland Park in Paarl.

The Royals have qualified for the playoffs in both editions of the SA20 previously, finishing fourth on both occasions, but haven't been able to make it to the final yet. While they'll look to push further and record a better position on the points table in the league stage, losing their star openers Jos Buttler and Jason Roy does dent their ability to do so to a fair extent.

Meanwhile, their opponents and defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) received an absolute hammering from MICT in the opening game of the season, as they were bowled out for just 77 in a chase of 175. Aiden Markram and company will quickly want to bounce back from that result.

It's time to look at the top three Dream11 captaincy picks in this fixture.

#3 Lungi Ngidi (BOWL) (PR)

Lungi Ngidi is likely to finish this season as the highest wicket-taker for the Paarl Royals.

Lungi Ngidi is set to spearhead the Paarl Royals' pace attack this season. With the bowling lineup, especially the pace battery, looking a tad weaker when compared to some of the other teams in the league, the onus will be on Ngidi to lead them this season.

While he can be expensive at times, Ngidi is a genuine wicket-taker across formats and has done well for the Royals in both editions of the SA20, picking up 24 wickets in 18 matches.

Against an SEC batting lineup that was completely exposed by the MICT pacers, a skillful bowler like Ngidi could definitely wreak havoc. He's someone worth considering for Dream11 captaincy.

#2 Aiden Markram (BAT) (SEC)

The Sunrisers' Eastern Cape captain Aiden Markram could be a decent captaincy choice in this fixture. Markram was the SEC's highest run-scorer in their disappointing collapse against MICT, making a run-a-ball 19 before nicking a delivery from Delano Potgieter.

Slotting in at No. 4 and also capable of bowling a couple of overs, Markram's points ceiling is high, especially considering his good form in the recently concluded Test series.

The wicket at Boland Park should provide some assistance to spinners, and with dangerous southpaws such as David Miller, Rubin Hermann, and Lhuan-dre Pretorious in the Paarl batting lineup, expect Markram to bowl a few overs and get a wicket.

He should be near the top of your list for captains and vice-captains in this fixture.

#1 Marco Jansen (ALL) (SEC)

Barring a poor last over where he conceded 23 runs, Jansen had a solid outing against MICT, picking up the two big wickets of Reeza Hendricks and Dewald Brevis. He also looked in fine touch with the bat and was run out for 14 off nine balls.

He has one of the highest point ceilings of any player on Dream11, and he will likely register a 100+ point haul in tonight's fixture against a Paarl Royals unit that looks a bit underwhelming on paper. He's a sureshot Dream11 captaincy pick in this fixture.
