SA vs NZ Dream11 Prediction: 3 Differentials you can pick for today's Women's T20 World Cup 2024 match - October 20, 2024

South Africa and New Zealand face off in The Final of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 on Sunday, October 20, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Both sides have played really well to get to this stage and will harbor hopes of lifting their maiden T20 World Cup title. Incidentally, both teams didn't top their group, but played solid cricket to topple the respective group toppers to get to the Final.

New Zealand's path wasn't the easiest as the WI bowlers kept them in check, and it took some special bowling of their own to win by eight runs in the semi-final. In contrast, South Africa produced a nearly flawless performance, restricting Australia with the ball before batting them out of the game with a perfectly paced run-chase led by Anneke Bosch.

This should be a cracking finale to a wonderful tournament filled with surprises. On that note, let's look at a few Dream11 differentials who could surprise us with sizeable point hauls in this match.

#3 Brooke Halliday (BAT) (NZ)

New Zealand batting all-rounder Brooke Halliday could be a handy Dream11 differential pick in this match. The southpaw has scored some crucial quick-fire runs for the side coming in at No.5 and could be required to do so again in this match in conditions that should help the batters.

Halliday is also a very useful medium pacer, and even picked up two wickets against Australia, dismissing Phoebe Litchfield and Annabel Sutherland. She was even set to bowl the final over against the West Indies before Suzie Bates was handed the ball.

With her ability to slow the game down with her medium-pace bowling, her knack for picking up wickets, and her firepower with the bat, she's a wonderful utility player for the team and a solid Dream11 pick.

#2 Isabella Gaze (WK) (NZ)

Isabella Gaze usually bats at No.7 for the White Ferns.
Isabella Gaze usually bats at No.7 for the White Ferns.

This is probably the only fixture in this tournament where the wicketkeeper pick for your Dream11 team isn't obvious. Sinalo Jafta is the Proteas wicket-keeper who bats as low as No.9, reducing her appeal as an option. Therefore, the real debate is between NZ's designated keeper Isabella Gaze, and keeper-batter Maddy Green, with the former arguably a better Dream11 pick.

There's not much to separate the two options, with Green likely batting one position above Isabella Gaze, with the latter usually coming at No.7. It was Gaze's 20-run cameo against the West Indies that propelled them to a defendable total, and that'll give her lots of confidence ahead of this match.

With there not being much difference in terms of run-scoring between any of these options, Gaze's glovework behind the stumps with the potential for Dream11 points through stumpings, catches, and run-outs gives her the edge as the wicket-keeper choice for this match.

Since her ownership is pretty low, she's also a solid differential to have.

#1 Nadine de Klerk (ALL) (SA)

Proteas all-rounder Nadine de Klerk may not have had the most productive of tournaments so far, but she remains an integral part of this Proteas setup, lending so much balance to the playing XI. The 24-year-old pace-bowling all-rounder has picked up three wickets at this tournament, with two of them coming in a stellar spell against Scotland, generally bowling 2-3 overs in a match.

While she hasn't been required to wield the willow in four of their five matches, de Klerk certainly can bat, with over 500 T20I runs to her name at an average of 26.40. An excellent all-rounder with solid wicket-taking ability, de Klerk is a low-owned gem who could make a huge difference in your Dream11 teams.
