Super Smash 2018-19: Match 29, Auckland vs Central Districts: Dream11 Prediction, Playing XI Updates and Fantasy Cricket Tips - February 9th, 2019
In the only meaningful clash of the triple header on Saturday, Auckland Aces and Central District Stags go head to head in determining who would host the preliminary final of the Super Smash next week.
The Aces though have an outside chance of finishing at the top of the table of results go their way and with the form of Glenn Phillips and captain, Craig Cachopa, they should be optimistic of their odds while the Stags are in it for the four points and would like to continue their march to set up another final with the Northern Knights.
Squads to choose from:
Auckland Aces:
Daniel Bell-Drummond, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Craig Cachopa, Robbie O'Donnell, Greame Beghin, Ben Horne, Matt Quinn, Mitchell McClenaghan, Will Somerville, Ronnie Hira and Donovan Grobbelaar.
Central Districts Stags:
Will Young, George Worker, Tom Bruce, Dean Foxcroft, Dean Cleaver, Josh Clarkson, Willem Ludick, Ben Wheeler, Seth Rance, Ajaz Patel, Adam Milne and Bevan Small.
Playing XI Updates:
Auckland Aces:
Colin Munro isn't available for this match due to national duty which implies the return of all-rounder Greame Beghin is certain.
The vacancy at the top of the order should be filled up Daniel Bell-Drummond, who was surprisingly demoted down the order against the Knights. The bowling is fairly settled with Mitchell McClenaghan leading the way with 14 wickets from just seven matches.
Possible XI: Phillips(WK), Bell-Drummond, Chapman, Cachopa(C), O'Donnell, Beghin, Grobbelaar, Hira, McClenaghan, Quinn and Somerville.
Central Districts Stags:
Adam Milne is back after a stint on the sidelines and should slot in for Blair Tickner, who isn't available due to his national commitments. Dean Cleaver's return should set Tom Bruce free of the gloves while George Worker's 44 in the previous match should have given him enough confidence to perform better in the coming games.
Possible XI: Worker, Young, Foxcroft, Bruce(C), Clarkson, Cleaver (WK), Ludick, Milne, Wheeler, Ajaz and Rance.
Fantasy Tips and Suggestions:
Wicket-keeper: Glenn Phillips is the ideal choice for the slot with his ability to provide a quick start proving to be quite lethal. Considering the flatness of the pitch, Phillips should be backed invariably.
Batsmen: Tom Bruce and Mark Chapman are must haves in the side. New Zealand hopefuls, Bruce and Chapman, are amongst the most dependable batsmen in the entire competition and will hope to come good in the last league game of the season. The likes of Will Young, Craig Cachopa and Daniel Bell-Drummond are also great options to have in the fantasy side.
All-rounders: George Worker was good in his previous outing for the Stags and should be one the of the first names of the fantasy team sheet. Along with him, Donovan Grobbelaar could also be a handy pick with his incisive bowling.
Bowlers: With a number of quality bowlers on offer, Mitchell McClenaghan, Seth Rance, Ben Wheeler and Ronnie Hira are the ideal set of players to pick with the likes of Matt Quinn and Adam Milne available to slot in for either of them. McClenaghan has been the standout bowler for the Aces and much is expected from him in this crucial match
Captain: Glenn Phillips is often likened to Brendon McCullum and why not? He has the same aura of destruction around him and is one player to keep an eye on along with Tom Bruce and George Worker.
Fantasy Suggestion #1: Glenn Phillips (WK), Mark Chapman, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Tom Bruce, Dean Foxcroft, George Worker, Donovan Grobbelaar, Seth Rance, Ben Wheeler, Mitchell McClenaghan and Ronnie Hira. Captain: Glenn Phillips
Fantasy Suggestion #2: Glenn Phillips (WK), Mark Chapman, Craig Cachopa, Tom Bruce, Will Young, George Worker, Dean Foxcroft, Mitchell McClenaghan, Adam Milne, Seth Rance and Matt Quinn. Captain: George Worker.
