Reports: £100 million rated striker agrees Real Madrid move
What’s the story?
Kylian Mbappe has agreed to join Real Madrid according to reports in Spain. The AS Monaco forward has been in red-hot form this season and has attracted interest from all the top clubs in Europe.
Marca reports suggest that Madrid have made the 18-year-old their top priority for the summer transfer window. Other reports indicate that they have already contacted the French side. Los Blancos see him as the ideal replacement for Alvaro Morata and Karim Benzema. Both the Madrid strikers are set to be sold in the summer.
In case you didn’t know...
Benzema has been highly inconsistent for Madrid in the big games, and the club have finally 'lost faith' in him according to reports. He's been linked with a move away from the club for some time now, and this summer might eventually be the one when he leaves!
Chelsea, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and several Chinese clubs are said to be keen on signing the Frenchman. The former Lyon striker does not want to leave Bernabeu, but with the manager losing faith in him, he knows it's going to be difficult for him to find a way into the starting XI.
Zidane admitted recently that the 18-year-old almost joined Madrid for free in 2013. The Madrid manager has naturally confirmed his admiration for the striker and is now keen on signing him in the summer.
The heart of the matter
Now, reports claim that Mbappe has agreed to move to Madrid in the summer. The primary factor behind his decision is said to be the chance of playing alongside his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. Apart from that the prospect of working with Zinedine Zidane is also a key factor.
The Monaco forward is set to cost at least £100 million - a world record fee that Madrid are not afraid to pay for him. He is just 18 years old, and the Spanish giants believe that he can be the next big thing in football without a doubt.
What’s next?
Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are also interested in signing him. However, Real Madrid lead the chase right now and are keen on agreeing on a deal soon with Monaco for him.

Mbappe is a huge Madrid fan, and it's no surprise that he has decided to join them. It will be interesting to see how often he gets to play there and before that, the actual transfer fee that is paid for him. Is he worth a world record fee? Absolutely.
