UEFA Champions League 2014/15 quarter-final draw: Real Madrid to face Atletico, Barcelona take on PSG
The UEFA Champions League draw is over and the quarter-final matches have been revealed. The draw took place in Nyon, Switzerland today where former German striker Karl-Heinz Riedle picked the lottery.
The first team to be drawn were French champions Paris Saint-Germain who will face Barcelona. This is a repeat of this year’s group stage fixture, and the same fixture was also the quarter-final in 2013. This possibly is the pick of the draws.
In what will be a replay of last year’s finals, Atletico Madrid were pitted against reigning champions Real Madrid.
Portuguese side Porto drew Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich - who would be desperate to win the tournament after last year’s unprecedented semi-final exit to eventual champions Real Madrid.
With Monaco and Juventus the only teams left, the only thing left to see was who plays the opening home leg and the Serie A champions were picked first.
There were no restrictions for this round’s draw and teams from the same country were eligible to be drawn together.
