2nd Division I-League: Bengaluru FC reserves script their first point against Langsning FC
Langsning FC shared points with Bengaluru Football Club reserves in their Group C match in the ongoing I-League clash at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong on Monday evening. The reserves of the Indian Super League runners-up snatched away a point from their visit to the North-Eastern part of India.
Kitboklang Pale scored the first goal of the match in the 22nd minute to put the hosts ahead by a one-goal cushion against the blue outfits. The team from the north-east held on to the lead till the hour mark and looked as if they almost got the three points.
But, Asheer Akhtar’s 63rd-minute strike made it 1-1 and fought hard till the final whistle to earn their first point of the league. The Bengaluru-based team may not have won the match, but their display in the away match will definitely give them a sigh of relief ahead of the upcoming matches.
Langsning FC is now placed second in the points table with 4 points, only behind Mohammedan Sporting which is at the helm with 6 points from two matches. Meanwhile, Bengaluru FC reserves are third with just 1 point.
Langsning FC will play their next match against Tiddim Road Athletic Football Club on March 26 while Bengaluru FC reserves will travel east to face Chennayin FC on April 6.
