3 players who could replace Jadon Sancho at Manchester United

The chances of fans ever seeing Jadon Sancho play for Manchester United are very low. The English footballer finds himself in this situation after having a disagreement with the club’s manager Erik ten Hag.

United fans all had high hopes for Sancho when he joined the club in 2021. It wasn’t an easy task for the club to sign him from Borussia Dortmund. However, United eventually signed the player by spending a whopping £75 million.

Sancho has spent three seasons at the club, however, he has yet to find his rhythm and fully adapt to the intensity of the Premier League. The Red Devils' fans are yet to see the Sancho that they all fell in love with during his time at Dortmund.

With everything pointing to the fact that he would leave Manchester United in January, let’s take a look at three players who could easily replace him:

#3 Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich)

Kingsley Coman, the 27-year-old French winger, is a highly underrated player. Despite his impressive performances for Bayern Munich, he doesn’t get the accolades that he deserves.

He started off his career at Paris Saint-Germain before joining Juventus in 2014. He spent two seasons at the club, where he continued to show glimpses of his talent and abilities. In 2015, Coman made a loan move to Bayern Munich, where fans have seen him develop into the player that he is today.

Operating mainly from the left wing and occasionally from the right, he has been running riot and posing a threat to defenders in the Bundesliga. His trophy collection with the German giants is actually quite impressive for a 27-year-old. To mention a few, he has won eight league titles and one Champions League title with the German club.

Individually, Coman’s stats for the club are also worth mentioning. He has played 279 games, and in terms of performance, he has scored 62 goals and registered 64 assists. Coman seems to have started off well this season. In seven league games, he has scored three goals and registered one assist.

With his success at both domestic and international levels, he has the potential to replace and even outperform Sancho, who has had a tough time in England. Convincing him to leave Bayern Munich might not be tough, considering the fact that his contract expires in 2027 and that he has also won major trophies with the club.

#2 Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Napoli)

Back in 2022, Napoli completed the signing of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for just €10 million. For that amount, many thought that the Georgian winger was bought as a backup option and not as a first-team regular. But as time went on, Kvaratskhelia established himself in the first team and was considered untouchable. After just one season at the club, fans already consider him a legend.

Rightly so when one considers the important role he played in ensuring that Napoli won their first Serie A title after waiting for 33 years. His form last season was impressive. He scored 14 goals and also registered 17 assists in 43 games across all competitions. This season, he has scored three goals and registered five assists in 11 games across all competitions.

Kvaratskhelia doesn’t look like a player who would be slowing down anytime soon. His young age makes him one to bank on, as the supporters are certain he will keep improving. If Manchester United should lose Jaden Sancho in January, the Georgian winger should be considered as his ideal replacement.

Though getting the deal done wouldn’t be an easy one, Manchester United might be willing to break the bank for a top player like Kvaratskhelia.

#1 Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Kaoru Mitoma is the less risky and ideal replacement for the English player at Manchester United. Considering the fact that he’s already familiar with the Premier League, the fear of him failing to live up to expectations is reduced.

Before signing for Brighton & Hove Albion, Mitoma was playing for Kawasaki Frontale in the J1 League. He established himself as their top asset, helping the team win two league titles during his time at the club. His numbers for the club speak volumes. He scored 30 goals and registered 20 assists in 62 games in total. These impressive stats caught the attention of Brighton, who signed him for just €3 million.

Signing him for that fee should be considered a nice piece of business because, after just two seasons in England, his value has now shot up. In his first season with the Seagulls, he scored 10 goals and gave eight assists in 41 games across all competitions, impressing onlookers.

Mitoma seems to be flying this season as well, despite it being the early days. He has played nine league games so far and has scored three goals and registered three assists. Mitoma’s talent and abilities are quite noticeable. Brighton considers him an important figure; even rival managers can’t help but praise him.

He has gone against some of the toughest defenders in the league. His exceptional dribbling skills and quick feet, however, have made him come out at the top almost every time. Hence, United fans might consider the Japan international as the best replacement for Sancho.
