The exciting January transfer window is about to come to a close in the next few days. Some of the clubs have already ruled out making any new signings before the transfer window closes, while some clubs will be trying to complete signings of their transfer targets before the deadline.

A good January transfer window gives clubs an edge over the others for the remainder of the season and thus many clubs will look to strengthen their respective squads in the next few days.

Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea, Frenkie De Jong to Barcelona, Piatek to A.C Milan and Brahim Diaz to Real Madrid are some of the high profile transfers that have already been completed in the current window. With only a few days remaining in the window, many other transfers also also likely to take place.

Here is a look at the top 3 transfers that are likely to take place before the January transfer window closes down.

#1 Alvaro Morata (from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid)

Chelsea v Nottingham Forest - FA Cup Third Round

Alvaro Morata arrived in England last year with a lot of promise, but the Spanish striker has been a major flop since then. He started his Chelsea career with a bang, but gradually his form faded and he was never able to come good for Chelsea. The change in manager hasn't helped Morata either.

Morata is looking to leave the hard times behind and looks set to move to the Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid. According to reports, Morata will join Atletico on loan with an option to buy for 44 million Euros.

He started his youth career in the Atletico Madrid academy and would hope that the familiar conditions would help him recover his lost mojo. The Spanish striker will benefit from playing in his home country and in a more stable team than Chelsea.
