4 Premier League players who could leave their clubs

Pepe Reina will not want to be Mignolet’s understudy at Liverpool

Every transfer window has a side effect on some players. Clubs may sell players to make way for new ones or buy players to give competition to the existing ones. Here is a list of players who have become surplus requirements at their respective teams.

Pepe Reina

Many question marks were raised over Reina’s future when Liverpool signed Simon Mignolet from Sunderland this summer. The Spanish stopper was on holiday when he was informed of this new development and made his feelings public about not wanting to be the No.2 at Anfield.

Former Reds manager Rafa Benitez took him to Italy on a season long loan move to Napoli, where he has flourished so far. Some superb performances against Arsenal and AC Milan, where he saved penalties from Lukas Podolski and Mario Balotelli respectively, earned him critical acclaim.

Meanwhile Simon Mignolet has hit the ground running for Liverpool and has even managed to keep a clean sheet against Manchester United in their first meeting of the season. Reina, 31, will most likely stay on permanently at Napoli or move to boyhood club Barcelona to replace the outgoing Victor Valdes.
