ISL 2017/18: Best forwards of week 12
The 12th week of ISL 2017 has come to an end and in the games we witnessed, there were some superb performances from various teams.
Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC continued their winning runs, while Kerala Blasters also secured a crucial win and the match between FC Goa and NorthEast United was the only draw in the round.
In this article, we look at five forwards whose performances stood out among the rest.
Marcelinho
Marcelinho was a one-man army against Kerala Blasters driving forward with his trickery and passing. The Brazilian was desperately unlucky to be on the losing side. The 30-year-old came close on a number of occasions hitting the woodwork twice including an audacious chipped effort.
The FC Pune City captain attempted five shots, the most by a Pune player. The former Delhi Dynamos player also created three chances for his teammates with his set-pieces being particularly threatening. The diminutive playmaker was targeted for some special treatment by Kerala Blasters as he suffered three fouls but they still couldn’t negate the brilliant Brazilian’s impact.
