Since the inception of the Premier League, Manchester United has dominated English football winning 13 league titles. Sir Alex Ferguson managed and signed some of football's finest talents during his stint as manager. The squad was overhauled on a number of occasions by the Scottish manager, scouting players from around the world.

While these players enjoyed a successful stint at Old Trafford, they have also suffered relegation with another club in their professional careers. Here we look at the five United players who have won titles at the club and got relegated with another club.

#5 Rio Ferdinand

Rio Ferdinand began his career with West Ham United in 1995 before a brief stint with Leeds and then a big money move to Manchester United in 2002. During his 12-year spell at Old Trafford, Ferdinand claimed multiple honours in a trophy-laden spell at the club.

In 2014, the English defender joined QPR under Harry Redknapp. From winning the league two years ago, Ferdinand was part of the QPR team that was relegated. A quick, robust central defender Ferdinand with Vidic at United created one of the toughest central defensive pairings in European history.

Despite the relegation and his immediate retirement, Rio Ferdinand has seamlessly transitioned from his role on the pitch to one off of it. An analyst for BT, he covers football matches as a pundit, giving viewers a reliable insight into the mindset of the players plying their trade at the highest level.
