5 players to buy in January for a cut-price deal

Andrea Pirlo – Juventus

The Italian international’s contract expires in the summer. He would fit into any top side that is looking for a quality deep lying play maker.

His current manager Antonio Conte even believes that the Italian deserves to win the Ballon d’Or, “It is difficult to choose between Messi and Ronaldo, but I would always give the Ballon d’Or to Pirlo. He is our player and may God keep him safe!”

Martin Montoya – Barcelona

The Barcelona right back, who has been linked with Liverpool recently, is only 22 years old and can play as a centre back as well. His contract also expires in the summer, however Barcelona have opened negotiations with him to tie him down to a long term deal. So any club looking to buy him should act quickly, otherwise they’ll have to pay a more hefty fee during the next transfer window.

Jeremy Menez – PSG

The French international has fallen below the pecking order at PSG and is another player who will join the Bosman list at the end of the season. He can play on the wings or as a striker.

There are rumours of Juventus being interested in him. It is highly unlikely that he will sign a new contract at PSG as he hasn’t featured in too many games under Laurent Blanc.

Jorge Fucile – Nacional de Football

The Uruguay international in currently playing for Nacional de football  in Uruguay.

He can play either as a left back or right back and is still 29 years old. He played a key role in uruguay’s progress in the 2010 world cup and was once liked with Liverpool and Chelsea in the past. As his contract expires in the summer, he could cost next to nothing.

Aiden McGeady – Spartak Moscow

The republic of Ireland international plays for spartak Moscow and had been linked with Everton in December. It is highly likely that he will move on in January as he fell out with his current club in December. Adding to this fact is that his contract expires in the summer and Spartak Moscow will not want to lose a player for nothing especially after they paid  £9.5 million for him.
