5 Players who could be dropped from the Indian national team

The Indian Super League is in its fourth season and many players have used the league as a stepping stone to have successful careers. But some players have lost their place in the national squad due to poor form in the league. Let's have a look at some players who could lose their place in the national team due to poor performances in this season of the ISL.

Borges made 58 appearances for Sporting Goa in his five-year stint at the club. In 2016, he was signed by Northeast United and went to East Bengal on loan. He has won around 15 caps for the national team in the last two years.

After missing the first few games due to injury, Borges has made a comeback to be a part of a Northeast team that has let in 12 goals in seven games while scoring only two in reply. There was a lot of responsibility on Borges' shoulders and he has let down his team with only 12 successful tackles in five matches, fewer tackles than three of his teammates, even though one of those has played fewer matches than Borges. Furthermore, he also has only seven interceptions to his name in five matches.

Borges has been in poor form and could be replaced in the national squad by Adil Khan who has been excellent for the Pune side in the ISL. Adil made three appearances for the senior side in 2012 and could make a comeback after six long years.
