5 players who may join Juventus this summer
For a moment, Juventus looked as if they had lost grip on the Serie A title. Napoli put up a strong challenge for the title and are currently just four points behind the leaders. That must have given Allegri and his team a timely reminder that they have to improve the depth of the squad this summer.
For the upcoming transfer window, many players across the different leagues have been linked to a move to Turin. Juventus will only want the best of the best and players who have been proven to exert a strong influence in games. It will also be wise for the Italian side to invest in some young talents as senior players look to retire too.
With the available funds, spending heavily this summer looks extremely possible. This will aid Juventus in strengthening their grip on the domestic title. At the same time, for the team who has struggled to win the prestigious Champions League, the transfer window will be the time to sign players who can give Juventus an additional competitive edge.
Here are five players who may join the Old Lady in the next few months.
#5 Alvaro Morata (Chelsea)
The Spanish footballer played for Juventus from 2014 to 2016, scoring 15 times in 63 games. Under Antonio Conte, at Chelsea, Morata has failed to impress Chelsea fans for the majority of the season.
He was expected to score on a weekly basis, but Morata hasn't able to justify the hype. He has scored 11 goals in 40 games but Morata experienced multiple goal droughts throughout the season which led to the frustration of Chelsea's manager.
The Serie A team is keen to bring Morata back after his horror season in Premier League, as he has struggled to adapt to the pace and physicality of playing in England. As such, choosing to leave Chelsea in order to return to Italy is a possible option for the Spaniard.
Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic is expected to leave at the end of the season and the Serie A leaders will be keen to quickly get a reliable forward to replace him. Morata fits the bill and could thrive in Turin.
