5 players Wolves could target should they secure promotion to the Premier League
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently have an 11-point lead going into the final 16 games of the Championship campaign. Having lost just four games all season, they have been in fine form. Unless the rapidly decline over the next few months, they will be playing Premier League football next season.
Wolves have an advantage as Jorge Mendes the super agent, who looks after the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez has a good relationship with Fosun International, the club’s owners. This means they could have access to some of the exciting talent from around Europe.
Wolves have made Diego Jota’s move permanent, and will be keen to add defenders Wily Boly and Ruben Vinagre to the same list following successful loan-spells. Santo will look to also strike deals for midfielder Alfred N'Diaye and their prolific goalscorer Leo Bonatini who have both excelled for the Championship club.
But who else could they bring in?
#5 Alex Telles (FC Porto)
Liverpool and Chelsea have previously targeted Alex Telles, who is now on Wolves’ radar. He is one of the brightest young full backs in European football with plenty of pace and skills. Telles has an incredible 16 assists to his name for Porto so far this season and netted twice in 62 appearances since joining the Portuguese side. He has a €40 million buy-out clause, but this won’t put Wolves off. The fact he has previously worked with Santo at Porto, is a huge factor to why he could make the move.
