Lewandowski faces an uncertain future after a fall-out with CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

For the past few years, Robert Lewandowski has been turning heads and raising eyebrows with his eye-catching displays at Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. He has been their most consistent and most prolific performer in the last few years. His goal-scoring prowess is second to none.

Another one of his plus points is that he seldom gets injured. After players like Mario Mandzukic and Mario Gomez left the club, Bayern have been playing without a substitute striker for quite a long time now. Even then, Lewandowski has been playing extremely well, netting thirty goals in each of the last two seasons in the Bundesliga.

But, the Polish front-man is not having the best of times in Germany. In Bayern's recent Champions League face-off versus Anderlecht, the Pole risked the ire of Dutch winger Arjen Robben. Lewandowski considered it better to take a shot himself instead of passing it to his team-mate who was the most obvious choice to score a goal.

Carlo Ancelotti's man-management skills have already been questioned following the rumours of unrest in the Bayern dressing room. To top the pile, Lewandowski has incurred the wrath of Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge after questioning the club's transfer policy. Apart from this, he has faced harsh criticism from legends and other officials at the club.

With Ancelotti touted to leave Bayern and Lewa' subsequent falling-out with the CEO, the Pole might as well consider his future options, should he decide to quit the Bavarians. Here, we take a look at five possible destinations for the talented striker.

#5 MANCHESTER CITY

Lewy wouldn't deny a chance to work with his ex-boss

Robert Lewandowski would find it hard to say no to his ex-Bayern boss at the Etihad. Although the forward had disagreements considering Guardiola's coaching techniques, Lewandowski has deemed the ex-Barcelona coach as a success at Bayern, despite failing to win the Champions League.

Manchester City have an abundance of midfield talent in the likes of Sterling, Yaya Toure, De Bruyne, David Silva and Ilkay Gundogan. However, Sergio Aguero remains the only experienced striker in City's frontline. Gabriel Jesus has had a promising start to his City career. But, Guardiola will need an experienced striker like Lewy if he faces the likes of Bayern, Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Although City won't guarantee the Champions League title compared to others on the list, Guardiola can still convince his former front-man to lead his attack.
