5 potential managers who could lift the FIFA World Cup
Every football manager wants the words ‘World Cup Winner’ on his resume. This is a list of five coaches who could lift the most desired title in world football with their country.
Luiz Felipe Scolari
The Brazilian has won the title with his country once before in 2002 and has had a roller coaster ride after that. The 64-year-old has since managed Portugal, Chelsea, Bunyodkor, Palmeiras before return to manage his native country. Scolari was unappreciated at the start of the 2002 World Cup but silenced all his critics with impressive wins over Turkey, China Belgium and England before beating Germany 2-0 in the final.
‘Big Phils’ managed to lead his team to Confederation Cup glory this year and looks hell bent on challenging his opponents in 2014 in the World Cup that will be played in his homeland. A World Cup win on home soil is every managers dream and there is no reason why Scolari can’t make that a reality.
