5 reasons why Spurs could win the Premier League this season?
The Premier League has begun and three rounds of matches have already been played as we can start to realise how things are going to end up by the time the season ends. The deadline day of the transfer window further reinforced the status of early favourites on some clubs.
And Tottenham Hotspur are one such team.
The North London outfit finished an impressive second last term and are looking to build upon it this season by going all the way to win the title – and they do have the ability to do so. While Jose Mourinho might be famous for always winning the league in his second season, it feels as though the Lilywhites might break that famous streak of the Portuguese.
And here are 5 reasons why Spurs will win the league this season:
#5 Best starting line-up in England
With Manchester United and Manchester City redeveloping their squad with some great signings, Tottenham’s starting XI still oozes the impression that it is a little superior over the two. The North London side haven’t tampered much with the first-team, except for a few signings that don’t really alter much of the starting XI – which keeps their chemistry and balance intact.
Tottenham’s defence is perhaps the best in the league. Last season, they conceded the fewest goals in the league – even less than eventual champions, Chelsea. And they have actually further updated that defence with astute signings (more on that later, obviously).
Their midfield might not be the most creative, but their attack is up there against the best in the league. Last season, Spurs had three different players scoring 20 or more goals, respectively, in the form of Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son and, obviously, Harry Kane.
And now they have added the World Cup-winning Basque forward, Fernando Llorente, in their ranks.
