5 reasons why Neymar should join Real Madrid

FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala 2015
Neymar could have the rare chance to have played alongside Messi and Ronaldo

Neymar Jr. has had a spectacular debut season at Paris Saint-Germain but his contributions have largely gone under the radar. Neymar was the star of the last summer transfer window as he became the most expensive signing of all time after moving out of FC Barcelona for a whopping £195 million.

Though his exploits on the field have been a treat to watch, he has also made the headlines for dodgy reasons. He had an on-pitch disagreement with Edinson Cavani over set-piece responsibilities and has also been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid which will undoubtedly rub Barca fans the wrong way.

Though the Brazilian was in the running to be the best player across Europe this season, he fractured the fifth metatarsal bone on his right foot and has missed out on the rest of the season.

With Ronaldo and Messi being up to their usual tricks and Mo Salah surprising everyone with his exploits, Neymar has arguably faded out of relevance a bit.

On that note, let's take a look at 5 reasons why it makes sense for Neymar to join Real Madrid.

#5 The Ligue 1 isn't the most challenging league in Europe

Ever since Paris Saint-Germain started investing heavily in the transfer market, winning the Ligue 1 has been a cakewalk for them. Though AS Monaco have tried their best to upset their monopoly, PSG have been able to rope in some of the biggest names in world football to silence their biggest title rivals.

As a result, PSG have scored 108 goals from 38 games this season. They have lost on just 3 occasions and are 15 points ahead of AS Monaco with one final game to go.

It has been all too easy for Neymar who wreaked havoc like it was nobody's business. He played 20 games for PSG in the league before picking up the injury that ended his season. In those 20 games, Neymar scored 19 times and assisted a further 13 goals.

Those numbers are staggering and they prove that the Ligue 1 can be easily negotiated with, especially for a player of Neymar's quality. If he has to improve and truly become the world's best, he needs to be plying his trade amongst Europe's elite and right now, it doesn't really look like Neymar is in the best place to be doing that.
