5 records PSG might break this season
After significant summer investment, Paris Saint-Germain currently hold a comfortable lead at the top of Ligue 1 and have already secured their passage to the last 16 of the Champions League. Domestically, in particular, their start to the season has suggested that this is likely to be a record-breaking campaign for the Parisian side.
Neymar, Cavani and Mbappe are firing on all cylinders and they are ably backed up by the likes of Julian Draxler, Angel Di Maria, Dani Alves, Rabiot, Marco Verratti etc. They look all set to make a statement in Europe this season.
Here are 5 records PSG might break this season:
#5 Ligue 1's Points Record
PSG have accumulated 38 points from 12 wins and two draws in Ligue 1 and they remain undefeated this season.
That works out to an average of 2.71 points per match. Given that they have already played the rest of the current top five, recording four wins and one draw, it seems safe to assume that they will continue to pick up points at a similar or even better rate going forward.
If they are to do so, PSG would finish the campaign with a total of somewhere around 103 points. That would comfortably beat the current Ligue 1 record, set by PSG themselves with their 96-point haul in the 2015-16 season.
