Leicester City 0-2 Manchester City: 5 Talking Points

There
There's just no stopping Manchester City

Manchester City maintained the 8-point gap at the summit, as Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne scored in either halves, to ensure a complacent 2-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

The hosts appeared to take the sting out of the mighty Skyblues with their dogged defending, but were ultimately undone by the latter's superior quality as Jesus found the breakthrough at the stroke of half-time. De Bruyne then stung another one early post the interval, as the Foxes lost their grip on the game they so firmly held in the early exchanges.

Eventually, it was just another day in the office for Pep Guardiola and his team who conserved their clench at the top of the table. Here are the major talking points from a sprightly night in Leicester:

#5 A feisty affair to light up your weekend

Leicester City vs Manchester City didn't fail to deliver, again.
Manchester City didn't fail to deliver, again.

As we've borne witness to in their recent clashes, Leicester City and Manchester City have produced enough for the viewers to leave for home, satiated from an entertainment perspective. Those watching the duel today would've felt no different as it was yet another feisty affair packed to the brim with nail-biting moments.

Most of these came through the Skyblues' swift counter-attacks and brilliant interplays, as the Foxes were left nonplussed and gasping to catch a breath. Not to say the hosts didn't have any nervy moments themselves, as there was sufficient few goal-mouth action at the other end too for the visitors to deal with.

Vardy, devoid of services for most of the game, almost grabbed an early opener when his goalward run was smothered by a horrendous tackle by Vincent Kompany. He then produced another exhilarating moment with a fierce strike against the upright, but was flagged offside when his effort was hooked off the line by a vigilante Kyle Walker as the Foxes thought they almost pulled one back.

Man City's patient, possession football coupled with Leicester's valiant efforts made it an end-to-end affair regardless of the eventual outcome. But it was the audience who were the biggest winners here, having been served a delightful treat to light up their weekend.
