66% of Real Madrid fans want striker Alvaro Morata back at the club

Alvaro Morata is wanted by Real Madrid fans

In a recent poll conducted by Spanish newspaper, AS, two-thirds of the Real Madrid sample asked voted for their club to bring back Alvaro Morata from Juventus. The young Spanish striker was sold to the Old Lady two summers ago for around €20m but reports have emerged that say Florentino Perez inserted a buy-back clause in his contract which would allow Madrid to buy Morata back in the same 15-day period they sold him.

According to the survey, the supporters often kept asking “Why isn’t he playing for us?” with Karim Benzema and Jese Rodriguez not entirely convincing the Bernabeu crowd as their season continues to take a dip for the worse.

Morata spent a chunk of his youth career at Real Madrid's B team impressing many people and was constantly linked with moves to top clubs across Europe. Having made his breathrough to the first team, he scored 10 goals in his first full season but apparently didn't convince Perez on his potential.

Juventus came calling and Morata saw it as an opportunity to get regular first team appearances. Real Madrid had multiple offers from some of the big English clubs as well but its understood that the youngster chose the Turin club himself.

if Real Madrid do want to buy him back, their price would depend on the number of appearances he makes for Juventus. According to AS, this is how it works 'If he plays in less than 25% of Juventus matches (playing constitutes being on the pitch for more than 45 minutes per match) his fee will be €20m. If he plays in 25% - 50% of the games for the Turin based side then the fee increases to €25m and if the performance rate increases to 50% or above then Madrid will be forced to pay €30m.'

With Real Madrid likely to sell both James Rodriguez and Isco, they're capable of producing the funds that are necessary to secure Morata's services and if Florentino Perez – who is standing for re-election – wants to win back the hearts of his supporters, maybe signing the youngster will do just that.
