7 managers who can take over the reins at Real Madrid next season
Real Madrid are the most successful club in world football with 33 La Liga titles and 13 Champions League crowns to their name. Currently, they are fighting in all three competitions, though their chances of winning each of them are slim.
The departure of Zinedine Zidane left a big hole at the Santiago Bernabeu, while Juan Lopetugi was bought in to fill his shoes. The Spaniard failed to implement his style of football as a result of which he was sacked in October and replaced by Santiago Scolari.
The interim manager Santiago Scolari despite some setbacks has so far managed to steady the ship for Real Madrid. Many expected that he might have a similar impact like Zidane, but so far it does not seems to be the case.
It is believed that, the Los Blancos hierarchy does not view as a manager for the long term and here are 7 managers they could consider instead:
#7 Jose Mourinho
Jose Mourinho is one of the most decorated managers in world football. The Portuguese has managed biggest clubs in world football such as Inter Milan, Chelsea, and Manchester United. Currently, he is unemployed after being sacked by the Red Devils in December last year.
The former Chelsea manager also was in charge of Real Madrid between 2010 to 2013, where he ended FC Barcelona's supremacy in La Liga and still holds the record of most points in a single La Liga season.
The Los Blancos are going through a transitional phase where key players such as Luka Modric, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, and Karim Benzema are all in their 30's. They need a manager who can guarantee them trophies while they build their team during that time. Also, he is currently unemployed which means he should be easily available.
It is believed that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is still a big fan of Jose and wants to bring him to Santiago Bernabeu for next season.
