"A decision will be made," says Nuno Espirito Santo on Raul Jimenez
What's the story?
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has openly claimed that he wants to keep Mexican striker Raul Jimenez beyond this season at the Molineux and that the club is doing everything in their power to snap up the striker on a permanent basis, reports Birmingham Mail.
Jimenez has had a stellar start to his Premier League career, having scored 10 goals so far in the English top flight, and is one of the main reasons for Wolves' good form.
In case you did not know...
Wolves signed Raul Jimenez last summer from Benfica on a one-year loan deal. This deal was made possible because of the close ties that the English club has with Portuguese agent, Jorge Mendes.
After scoring 12 goals this season already, Jimenez is expected to receive a flood of offers from top clubs all over the world and it will be in the interests of the club to make his transfer a permanent one.
The heart of the matter
Speaking to reporters Nuno said that the club will take a call when the moment presents itself.
"He is doing OK and when the moment comes, a decision will be made. It's clear in the schedule and the dates are clear so he has to carry on what he's doing. He did it today and he has to do it tomorrow and the day after."
Wolves captain Conor Coady has also claimed that his teammates are desperate to see the club retain the services of the Mexican striker, as reported by The Times.
"You've got to be (in his ear)! It's his decision at the end of the day. The two clubs will come to a decision. We want him here."
What's next?
Wolves continue their impressive run in the Premier League with a trip to bottom of the league side Huddersfield Town for a midweek match which they are expected to win.
