AC Milan 1-3 Liverpool: Reds player ratings as they come from behind to win their opening Champions League game
Liverpool came back from an early goal to secure a comfortable 3-1 win over AC Milan on Tuesday night (September 17). The UEFA Champions League game was played at the San Siro.
The hosts opened the scoring in the third minute through Christian Pulisic. Arne Slot's side drew level in the 23rd minute after Trent Alexander-Arnold's free-kick found Ibrahima Konate, who headed home.
The visitors took the lead in the 41st minute through Virgil van Dijk, with Dominik Szoboszlai rounding off the scoring in the 67th minute.

The Brazilian was not at his best against AC Milan. He managed one save, conceded once, made three recoveries, and misplaced six passes with his 26 touches.
Trent Alexander-Arnold - 8/10
The English full-back was Liverpool's standout performer, creating the most chances in the game (4). He bagged the assist for the Reds' equalizer scored by Konate. Joe Gomez replaced him in the 79th minute,
Virgil van Dijk- 8/10
The Dutchman completed the most passes in the game (65) and looked composed at the back. Van Dijk gave Liverpool the lead with a headed effort before halftime.
Ibrahima Konate- 8/10
The French defender, who looked solid alongside Van Dijk, scored his side's equalizer. He completed 93% of his passes and made eight recoveries against Milan.
Konstantinos Tsimikas- 8/10
While to blame for AC Milan's goal, the left-back improved as the match progressed and provided the assist for Van Dijk's goal from a corner. He completed 94% of his passes and was accurate with 40% of his crosses.
Alexis Mac Allister - 7.5/10
The Argentine midfielder had a fine game, creating three chances. He completed 43 out of 50 attempted passes while winning two tackles and recovering possession six times. Wataru Endo replaced him in the 90th minute.
Ryan Gravenberch - 7.5/10
The Dutchman kept things tidy with 57 touches and completed 90% of his passes. He recovered possession 10 times in the game and won two freekicks for his side.
Dominik Szoboszlai - 8/10
The Hungarian midfielder was electric for Liverpool against AC Milan, bagging a goal from his three efforts on target. He played all 90 minutes of the game and was impressive throughout.

The Egyptian star was unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet for Liverpool at the San Siro. He struck the woodwork twice and completed three dribbles to be a constant thorn in AC Milan's defense. Federico Chiesa replaced him in the 90th minute.

The Dutchman had a fine game for the Reds, winning the most duels on the pitch (7) and setting up the final goal after some neat interplay with Szoboszlai. Gakpo tested the AC Milan keeper with his two attempts in the game and recovered possession five times. Luis Diaz came on for him in the 68th minute.
Diogo Jota - 6.5/10
The Portuguese star was not convincing at the tip of Liverpool's attack before his withdrawal in the 68th minute, with Darwin Nunez replacing him. He made 23 touches and completed 11 passes during his 68 minutes on the pitch.
