Rumour: AC Milan and Barcelona targeting former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole
Ashley Cole could find himself playing for yet another top club next summer as Barcelona and AC Milan are interested in signing the former Chelsea left-back according to the Daily Mail.
Cole, who is a free agent after being released by Chelsea last season, is aware of both the clubs’ offers and could make a decision soon.
New Barcelona manager Luis Enrique sees Cole as a highly reliable player and is keen to bring him to the Camp Nou as soon as possible.
Milan, who also have a new manager in the form of Filippo Inzaghi, are keen to bring in fresh players to bolster their league position next season and are interested in Cole’s services next season.
Cole, who retired from international football after being excluded from England’s World Cup squad, remained Chelsea’s undisputed first choice left back for eight long years until he lost his place under Jose Mourinho to Cesar Azpilicueta, who is originally a right back.
The 33-year-old still has a few good years left in him and certainly want to play at the top level for as long as possible.
