AC Milan defender Phillippe Mexes slapped with a four-match ban
AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes has been handed a four-match ban after he punched Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini during his team’s 2-3 defeat against fellow Serie A rivals Juventus.
Mexes was sent-ff earlier during the match due to him getting two yellow cards which meant he would be out for a match. But after the punching incident was reviewed on television the ban was extended for further three matches.
The player is expected to miss his team’s clash against Udinese next week and against Parma, Lazio and Fiorentina in the weeks after that.
The victory for Juventus came through goals from Andrea Pirlo, Sebastian Giovinco and Giorgio Chiellini in the 15th, 69th and 75th minute respectively while Sulley Muntari scored a brace for the San Siro club in the 1st and the 90th minute.
