Rumour: AC Milan join Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal in race for Mario Mandzukic

Mario Mandzukic: In demand

Italian side AC Milan have joined the race for the signature of Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic, looking to beat the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea to the Croatian’s signing.

Mandzukic has been sought-after by a number of clubs for some time, including heavy links with Chelsea, however, Bayern are refusing to part ways with their main forward.

Mandzukic has been a key player for Bayern Munich since signing in 2012, but he seems disillusioned with life at the Allianz Arena after Guardiola opted for Thomas Muller up-front in several Bundesliga games ahead of Mandzukic last season. Not satisfied with his role on the team and with Robert Lewandowski set to arrive in summer, the Croatian seems ready to move to pastures new.

Mandzukic has reportedly had numerous fall-outs with manager Pep Guardiola and the Spaniard is said to not be happy with the strikers attitude. Mandzukic reportedly laughed at Guardiola when he came into the changing room angry after an end of season loss.

Guardiola is ready to offload the Croatian international and with a number of English clubs ready to make a move, AC Milan have also joined the hunt.

The 28-year-old recently stated he is ready to move for pastures new, according to the Daily Star.
