AC Milan president Berlusconi sentenced to jail for seven years
The president of A.C. Milan and former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was today sentenced to a 7-year jail term and banned from holding public office after a court found him guilty of paying an underage prostitute for sex .
Karima El Mahroug, the woman at the center of the scandal better known by her stage name Ruby Rubacuori (Ruby Heartstealer), was 17 in 2010 when the incident is said to have taken place, though both she and Berlusconi have denied all allegations.
Judges also found that Berlusconi had once claimed that Mahroug was the daughter of former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak and used his immense political clout in Milan to free her after she was arrested on suspicion of theft.
