AC Milan reveal their new Away kit for 2014/15, but with a surprise

AC Milan have revealed an away kit with a new-look featuring a redesigned club badge for the 2014/15 season.

The new white/red Milan 14-15 Away Shirt uses a totally new Casa de Milan badge instead of the official club logo. A few hours after the jersey was leaked in June, AC Milan published official information about the new Milan 14-15 Away Kit badge, stating that they would just like to make it clear that the logo of the club has not been modified in any way. The symbol of the city of Milan has been chosen for the home shirt just for the next season, the away shirt will have the logo of Casa Milan. The third shirt, the yellow shirt, will have the official logo of the club. In their official account on Twitter, AC Milan posted:

The Rossoneri's Adidas away kit boasts some thin, grey stripes, while the rest of the predominantly white shirt has some red and black detailing, in keeping with tradition. The kit comes with a red round collar and red sleeve cuffs. On the front feature small horizontal pinstripes, whereas the Italian tricolor is embedded on the back to underline once again the strong Italian connotation of the club which is hugely loved worldwide. White shorts, which feature the normal club logo and white socks, complete the new Milan 2014-15 Away Kit.

But the badge will stand out, with the two main elements of the club crest seemingly split across the home and away kits. The new crest on the front of the shirt is a circular emblem that feature 3D red stripes that seem to spiral around a spherical core with the club's traditional black color there to add depth. The logo celebrates AC Milan's new club headquarters, Casa Milan. The new kit will make it’s on-field debut on Thursday, July 24 when Milan takes on Olympiacos of Greece at Toronto FC's BMO Field.

According to Adidas' press release:

‘A new logo celebrates Casa Milan, the club’s new headquarters. The white shorts with red stripes feature the official AC Milan logo. The red and black striped home jersey features St. George’s Cross, the emblem of the City of Milan, to celebrate the club’s long tradition. The Cross was featured on the club’s first kit and was used until the 1940s’
