AC Milan set to sign Matias Silvestre

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani confirmed that a loan deal for Matias Silvestre from rivals Inter Milan has been finalised.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Galliani was quoted as saying: “Talks have been completed for Silvestre. He’ll soon have his medical with us.”

The 28-year-old defender’s arrival will boost Rossoneri’s defence as they are short on options at centre-back with injuries to Daniele Bonera, Mattia De Sciglio and Philippe Mexes.

After a disappointing season with the Nerazzurri last year, he was not included in Inter’s pre-season training squad. The deal also includes the 100% right to buy the player for a fixed price next year.
