Rumour: Adam Lallana’s move to Liverpool will not happen until after the World Cup

Adam Lallana’s expected move to Liverpool from Southampton will not happen until after the World Cup, according to reports from Goal.

The England midfielder has been subject to intense transfer speculation after it recently that Liverpool had two bids rejected. Southampton have accepted that Lallana will not be staying at St.Marys, but are trying their best to get a good deal out of the England international. The Saints recently indicated that they are putting a £30 million price-tag on Lallana’s head, which reportedly put off Liverpool.

However, Brendan Rodgers and his troops are still eagerly chasing Lallana, but the 26-year-old is now turning his attentions to the World Cup and despite his desperation at wanting to join the Reds, he will only do business after the tournament this summer.

Lallana was called up to the England World Cup squad and Brendan Rodgers was eager to bring the midfielder to Anfield before the tournament commences, in-order to avoid his price-tag rising up should he put on a good show in Brazil.

Lallana also featured on a six-man shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year award recently that eventually went to Luis Suarez. His performances this season have attracted a lot of attention and he has been linked with a number of clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Seven of Lallana’s nine Premier League goals this season were inside the opposition penalty area.
