Midfielder Yaya Toure described his country's Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) win as "unbelievable" after Ivory Coast beat Ghana 9-8 on penalties to lift the trophy for the first time since 1992.

Goalkeeper Boubacar Barry scored the decisive spot-kick to seal the victory. The match ended goalless after extra time.

“When you win with your club, it's quite amazing. With your country, it's unbelievable,” he was quoted as saying by bbc.com Monday.

Ivory Coast's coach Herve Renard became the first coach to win two Afcon titles with different countries, after guiding Zambia to glory in 2012.

“Without the manager we would have won nothing," the Ivory Coast captain added. "He made things difficult for me. He told me if I didn't run he'd kick me out. He's fantastic.”
