Agent denies Brandon Fernandes' Reading link
Brandon Fernandes‘s agents have denied rumours of an impending transfer to Reading FC, Goal.com has reported.
ESPN had earlier claimed that Reading were ready to make a $1 million bid for the 18 year old, who underwent a two week trial with Reading and is now doing the same at Leicester City FC.
Susanna Steptoe, MD of Fernandes’ current club ASD Cape Town has said, “Reports that Reading Football Club have made a concrete offer for Brandon Fernandes are completely untrue. Any publication that runs with them is actually compromising Brandon’s prospects and any negotiations that may be taking place. We ask you to kindly remember this and support us in protecting Brandon from irresponsible rumour.”
Brandon’s fater Jaju, also speaking to Goal.com, said, “…I got a call from him today as well and he didn’t say anything about a deal with Reading.”
While this may come as a disappointment to a few Indian football fans, a wait and watch approach needs to be adopted, considering how sometimes transfers take weeks to complete. And there is also the trial with Leicester City to be taken into account, who may yet offer him a contract.
