Ajax manager Frank de Boer turned down both Liverpool and Tottenham
Ajax manager and Dutch legend Frank de Boer turned down the opportunities to manage Liverpool and Tottenham, his brother Ronald has revealed.
According to Ronald de Boer, who also played football at the highest level with his brother, the current Ajax boss turned Spurs down in January, shortly after Andre Villas-Boas was sacked and turned Liverpool down last year.
De Boer is currently one of the hottest properties in Europe as he continues to shine and win things at Ajax, promoting youth consistently, coaching them well and playing a fantastic style of football.
He has been recently linked with Manchester United, too.
Ronald told TalkSPORT: “Frank has already denied Liverpool and Tottenham. Tottenham wanted to take him in January, but Frank said no.
“He also said no to Liverpool last year. He thought he was still not ready and wanted to learn more.
“Now he’s ready, though. We’ll have to wait and see (what offers he gets). It’s important for Frank to get the right club otherwise he won’t leave Ajax. He’s very happy there.”
De Boer has been manager of Ajax for three full seasons and won the Eredivisie each time.
