“I am very satisfied with the first half, with a bit of luck we could have scored more goals,” Ajax coach Frank de Boer said afterwards. “After the break it went up and down, although they did not create many chances.”

Also Sundaym PSV squandered a 2-1 lead to be held 2-2 at Roda JC Kerkrade. The home team went ahead through Frank Demouge but Ola Toivonen’s two goals earned PSV a 2-1 lead at half-time. In the 87th minute Sanharib Malki produced the equalizer.

“We gave away the victory in the final minutes, that’s a lack of quality,” PSV coach Dick Advocaat declared. “It’s frustrating, but we still can become champions.”

Vitesse Arnhem made no mistake beating PEC Zwolle 2-1. League topscorer Wilfried Bony lifted his goals tally to 27, while Mike Havenaar doubled the score. Arsenio Valpoort was responsible for the only Zwolle goal.
