Alaves vs Getafe prediction, preview, team news and more | La Liga 2023-24

Alaves and Getafe continue their push for a top-half finish when they square off in the penultimate game of the 2023-24 La Liga campaign on Saturday. Both sides are currently separated by just one point in the league table and we anticipate a thrilling contest at the Estadio de Mendizorroza.

Alaves were sent crashing back down to earth last weekend when they suffered a 5-0 hammering at the hands of newly-crowned La Liga champions Real Madrid.

Before that, Luis Garcia’s men were on a four-game unbeaten run, claiming three wins and one draw while scoring six goals and keeping three clean sheets in that time.

With 42 points from 36 matches, Alaves are currently 11th in the league standings, one point and one place behind Saturday’s visitors.

Getafe, on the other hand, were left empty-handed yet again as they fell to a 3-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

José Bordalás’ men have now lost three games on the bounce, stretching back to a 3-1 victory over 10-man Almeria on April 27.

Getafe’s poor late-season form has been due to their struggles in front of goal as they have failed to make the net ripple in their last three matches while conceding six goals at the opposite end of the pitch.

Alaves vs Getafe Prediction

Fresh off the back of a humbling defeat against Real Madrid, Alaves will be looking to pick up a morale-boosting result.

Garcia’s men have been rock-solid at home in recent weeks and we fancy them to see off an out-of-sorts Getafe side who have lost their last three matches.

Prediction: Alaves 2-1 Getafe
