Alexandre Pato to move to Chelsea?
Sources have suggested that Chelsea have cooled their interest in 26-year-old in-form striker Radamel Falcao as Atletico Madrid have demanded close to 50 million Euros for the Colombian forward. However, new reports have emerged in The Metro, stating that Chelsea are planning to make a move for AC Milan‘s 23-year-old Brazilian striker, Alexandre Pato.
The highly-rated Pato has been on Chelsea’s radar for a while now, and if the Falcao deal falls through, there is strong indication that he will join his compatriots Oscar, David Luiz and Ramirez at Stamford Bridge.
Despite being supremely talented, Pato has had his fair share of injuries and controversies at the Milan club and could be tempted to move to greener pastures. Milan, too, could make the best of this deal and cash in on the youngster.
Pato has been in good touch this season, and recently scored an important goal for AC Milan in their Champions League match against Malaga.
Chelsea, who have also been linked with manager Pep Guardiola, are looking to bolster their forward line as first-choice striker Fernando Torres has not been at his best this season and Romelu Lukaku is currently at loan at West Bromwich Albion and wishes to continue on till the end of the season.
Chelsea fans will surely be salivating at the prospect of watching Pato play alongside their midfield, which is touted to be one of the best in Europe. But if he will actually sign for the London club, is another story altogether.
