All hell broke loose on Twitter as Liverpool crashed out of the Carabao Cup

West Ham United v Liverpool - Premier League
Jurgen Klopp was absolutely livid after Liverpool crashed out of the EFL (Carabao) Cup

Jurgen Klopp's team took on an exuberant Leicester City side last night in the 3rd round of the EFL Cup (Now called Carabao Cup for sponsorship reasons) and were knocked right out of the competition by the Foxes, who won 2-0.

Goals from Shinji Okazaki and Islam Slimani ensured that Liverpool will play no further part in this tournament, ending the night with a rather tell-tale scoreline of 2-0, as the Reds displayed complete fragility in defence.

Twitter was ostensibly the place to be, as fans poured in on the social media site, to vent their feelings, and vent they did! Here's a look at some of the best tweets we managed to find.

Enraged fans began calling for captain Jordan Henderson's head, and if this was Game Of Thrones, you'd imagine they'd want it on a spike.

Some fans asked the right questions, but who's going to answer them?

Liverpool drew harsh criticism after failing to score against Leicester City. Notably, the Reds' stats over the last few games have been nothing short of abysmal, as highlighted by a fan:

Liverpool's fans seem to score more than their manager in the 'guess what's wrong' game, as Okazaki and Slimani stormed through and ran away with accolades.

Ever been on Twitter after an important game and not found banter? Hardly ever, right? The Twitterati were at their mocking best yet again, cruelly lambasting the Merseyside club.

Of course, Twitter does, most often than not, split opinion. While hordes of people wailed, ranted and complained, some refused to be drawn into the frenzy, but urged their team to pick up the pace after a nightmarish result last night.

There was no way Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was getting away easily either. From branding him as a curse to having a mere laugh at his expense, the Englishman sure was mentioned quite a lot on Twitter.

Manager Jurgen Klopp, too, wasn't bereft of criticism.

Some even audaciously foreshadowed the German's exit from the club.

All in all, Liverpool fans are bound to be a gloomy bunch after last night's game, and it sure looks like they won't be Klopping after this performance. *ba dum tss*
