Allegri may leave AC Milan
AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri’s future is in the balance in spite of him spearheading a massive turnaround after a terrible start to the season. He is set for showdown talks with the Milan board this week.
“Right now, talking about the future is too early,” said the Italian.
The club’s vice- president Adriano Gilliani has said that he would be meeting Allegri and club President Silvio Berlusconi to discuss the manager’s fate. “Allegri’s future? We’ll meet on Wednesday and a decision will be taken with the president. We have to see what he wants to do,” he said.
He has been linked with a move to Roma.
The Rossoneri were hovering above the relegation zone at the start of the season, after losing five of their first eight games. This was their worst ever start to a Serie A campaign. The Milan board stuck with Allegri and it proved to be the right decision with Milan steadily climbing up the table as the season progressed. With just one defeat in 2013, Milan managed to finish 3rd in the League table , thus taking them to Champions league qualifier next year.
Allegri joined the club in 2010. In his first season at the club, Milan won the title for the first time since 2004. They finished runners-up to Juventus last year.
