Analysing the Transfer Gossip – 22nd June: Cabaye, Rooney, Fellaini and more
As we move in to the off-season, an unprecedented amount of managerial movement around Europe will surely see an already frantic transfer market go in to overdrive. This will give plenty of opportunities for transfer rumour and gossip. So how much of it is realistic?
Wayne Rooney, 27, will meet with new Manchester United manager David Moyes to discuss his future, as Chelsea and Arsenal both prepare to bid for the England striker if he wants to leave the Premier League champions.

What’s the story? This needs to be sorted out as quickly as possible and it does no one any favours to drag it on. Rooney wants out, he has bad blood with Moyes.
Does it make sense? It’s hard to picture United selling Rooney in England rather than to one of these suitors but with Bayern seemingly happy with Lewandowski and Real Madrid and Barcelona pretty much full up his options are running out. Chelsea could use him for a few years although his versatility is less important there considering all the other options. Arsenal are signing Higuain so seem to be out of the running.
Is the price right? So far reports of £30m seem really low. United might only consider £40m+ or they may take the £30m to deal with the headache.
Will it happen? 7/10: Chelsea – loads of other options but missing out on Cavani and Falcao could bring him up their list. 3/10: Arsenal – Signing a world class striker for £22m already and don’t operate a two forward system.
