Highlights: Andrea Pirlo scores last minute screamer to give Juventus 2-1 victory in Turin derby

Andrea Pirlo is congratulated by Juventus teammates after scoring the last-minute goal

The 35-year-old Andrea Pirlo has ensured a lasting place of his legacy in the folklore of the Derby della Mole, courtesy a magnificent last-minute winner, as Juventus beat city rivals Torino to claim a 25th successive Serie A victory at Juventus Stadium.

With this thrilling victory, Juventus have extended their lead at the top of Serie A Calcio to 6 points over their nearest rivals, AS Roma, while their neighbours hover dangerously close to relegation zone.

It were the table-toppers who took the lead in the 15th minute through Arturo Vidal’s 15th minute penalty, but the complexion of the game changed when Torino equalized only seven minutes later.

Bruno Peres took on the entire Juventus defence with a brilliant solo effort, to give Torino hope of an unlikely and a historical result.

Torino seemed favourites to secure a first derby win since 1995 when Juventus’s Stefan Lichsteiner was sent off with 11 minutes remaining, until Pirlo popped up to net the winner in the last minute of injury-time.

There have been demands this season that Pirlo be replaced in the Juventus team by the younger and fitter Claudio Marchisio, but as this goal shows again, Pirlo only gets better with age.
