Andy Carroll passes West Ham medical

Andy Carroll has passed his medical at West Ham

Andy Carroll is set to complete a £15m move to West Ham as the Liverpool striker has passed his medical at West Ham.

The 24-year-old, who cost Liverpool around £35m, had been on loan at West Ham since 2012 and he went on to score seven goals in 24 games.

West Ham chairman David Gold tweeted: “We managed to bring Andy’s medical forward and I am delighted to inform you that he has passed with flying colours.”

Carroll had injured himself in the final game of the season and was forced out of England’s friendlies against Republic of Ireland and Brazil.

The former Newcastle player was signed for Liverpool on the last day of the transfer window in 2011, but his lack of form saw the striker being loaned to West Ham in 2012.
